During this webinar, different types of heat-related illnesses will be presented. Definitions, risk factors, pathophysiology, clinical presentation, signs and symptoms, differential diagnosis, treatment, complications and prevention will be discussed for:

• Heat Cramps
• Heat Exhaustion
• Heat Stroke

Attendees will be able to utilize risk factors discussed to identify employees who are at risk for heat-related illness to prevent an incident. Treatments will be discussed for urgent or emergency care. Lastly, other medical conditions with similar clinical presentation will be discussed.

Speaker: Dr. Trang Nguyen, MedicusRX

Dr. Trang Nguyen MD, PhD is a Fellowship trained Occupational Medicine Physician and an Epidemiologist in Houston, Texas. She completed the Doctoral Degree in Epidemiology at the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine. Dr. Nguyen is a clinician and a researcher. She was an Assistant Professor at UT Southwestern Medical School at Dallas. Dr. Nguyen is an author and a member of the Advisory Board for the journal Spine and the ODG. She is the President of MedicusRx and oversees multiple private medical practices. She is a current Physician Reviewer for the OIG office.
