Norm Stuart has worked in Safety & Risk Management for the past 32 years, the last 22 of those as the  Risk Manager for the City of Friendswood. In 2002, he graduated from San Jacinto Community College with an A.A.S. in Occupational Health and Safety Technology. In addition to working full-time, in 2006 Mr. Stuart started his own safety training and supply company, Live Oak Safety. In 2011 he graduated Summa Cum Laude from Columbia Southern University with a B.S. in Occupational Safety & Health.

Never wishing to be idle for long, he is currently working on attaining his ARM (Associate in Risk Management) designation. Mr. Stuart is a Licensed Workers Compensation adjuster in the State of Texas. He is also authorized through UT Arlington as an OSHA 10-30 Hour Instructor (Construction), Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) Instructor, Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor, under the American Trauma Event Management system and the American Red Cross. He is also an active part of the City of Friendswood’s emergency management team and has a Professional Development Series (PDS) Certificate from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). In addition to his responsibilities to the City of Friendswood, Live Oak Safety, and his family, Mr. Stuart is a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) member, and active in the following organizations:

• PRMA - Public Risk Management Association
• Gulf Coast Safety Institute - Advisory Board
• RIMS- Risk Management Society
• Knight of Columbus, Council 8494
